Our brand new medical facility, with in house laboratory, ultrasound, dental x-ray, radiograph, and soft tissue surgery suite, was designed to provide the most comprehensive and complete care for anything your pet may need.

Veterinarian
Dr. Christina Carothers
“Happy Pets, Happy Vets” This comment, made by Dr. Carothers husband, defines how passionate Dr Carothers is when caring for her clients and their pets!! She believes that great relationships start with listening to clients, forming a bond with their pet, and offering the best diagnostics and treatments available. Her goal is to help you and your pets have the best life possible! Dr. Carothers was born in the United States but moved to Europe with her family when she was four. She returned to the country when she was sixteen and graduated from the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 1992. She completed a 1 year medicine and surgery internship at VCA Newark Animal Hospital. She was then hired on as a full time doctor at Newark Animal Hospital and was blessed to have worked with amazing specialists, doctors, and support team for the past 33 years. Dr Carothers believes in living life to its fullest! She is passionate about traveling the world and making new friends while having adventures. Her travel partners include husband Erik and sons Joshua and Gavin. At home, she enjoys spending time with her cats, Anubis and Fuzzy Dice, as well as hiking, biking, and any outdoor activities that involve water or snow. She is very excited to join the team at AVH and to continue providing amazing care for all her amazing clients and their pets.

Veterinarian
Dr. Todd Cochran
Dr. Cochran grew up in northeastern Ohio attending an all-girls school. She completed her undergraduate work at Cornell University where she earned a BS with distinction in Animal Sciences. She then returned to Ohio to attend The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She met her husband while in veterinary school and the adventure began! Dr. Cochran and her family have lived across the US and have even lived in Switzerland for an extended period of time. She has been fortunate to be able to travel extensively and show her children many parts of the world. Dr. Cochran has three fabulous children and even has the honor of sharing her passion for veterinary medicine with her daughter, Dr Hannah Cochran. Dr Cochran enjoys general practice and has a special passion for surgery. She brings decades of experience to her work; she continues to learn and hone her skill every day. She hopes to be a compassionate and caring partner in her patient’s care. On her off time, Dr Cochran likes to play tennis and golf. She loves to travel with her family and wishes to explore more of the world!

Dr. Hannah Cochran
Born in Chicago, Dr. Hannah Cochran experienced a childhood full of adventure, moving nine times across various states, including New York and Texas, and spending a significant part of her young life overseas in Zurich, Switzerland. Growing up with a twin sister, older brother, amazing parents, Great Danes, and a Boxer, Dr. Cochran graduated high school in San Antonio, Texas, where she began volunteering at animal shelters and worked as a veterinary technician. With a mother who is a veterinarian, it felt natural for Dr. Cochran to pursue a career in veterinary medicine. Dr. Cochran attended the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, for her pre-veterinary bachelor's degree, where her passion for veterinary medicine flourished. She served as a teaching assistant for a Dorset breeding flock, assisted in lambing's and took part in a camelid reproduction class that ignited her interest in theriogenology. Continuing her education, Dr. Cochran attended the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine where she further honed her skills and knowledge. She is currently in a theriogenology residency program with Agnew Veterinary Reproductive Services, eater to make a meaningful impact in the field of veterinary medicine and is incredibly honored to be a part of this team. Outside of the office, Dr. Cochran enjoys crocheting, traveling, and spending time with friends and significant other, Owen, as well as her dog Melon and cat Yam.

Morgan Agnew, VMD DACT
Morgan Agnew, VMD, DACT grew up outside of Philadelphia in Wyndmoor, PA taking care of her family pets including cats, rabbits, birds and reptiles. Dr. Agnew graduated summa cum laude in 2009 from Virginia Tech with a dual degree in Animal and Poultry Science and Biology. Dr. Agnew graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 2013. After veterinary school Dr. Agnew spent two years in Lexington, KY working at Rood and Riddle Equine Hospital in the ambulatory department, spending a majority of her time managing pregnant mares, foals, and yearlings. Dr. Agnew returned to Pennsylvania to complete a two year residency specializing in reproduction at the University of Pennsylvania. During her residency she became very interested in small animal reproduction. Upon completion of her residency she became board certified in theriogenology, worked in private practice and established her practice, AVRS. Dr. Agnew is a proud member of The American College of Theriogenologists and The Society for Theriogenology. In her free time Dr. Agnew enjoys hiking, traveling, and gardening with her husband Al and dog Fiona. She enjoys spending quality time with her family including her two younger sisters who both live in the Philadelphia area.

Shannon Agnew
Shannon is thrilled to join AVH/AVRS, and could not be prouder to stand by her sister and best friend, Dr. Morgan Agnew. Working with Dr. Agnew, her older sister, is a dream come true. After working for fifteen years in non profit theater working as a theatrical director, artistic director, and administrator for multiple national companies, she is elated to bring her administrative experience to help AVH fulfill its mission of providing excellent, personalized care to every patient. She lives in Philadelphia with her spouse Caleb and their six cats: Peter, Wendy, Pastrami, Pickles, Rugelach, and Rye. In her free time she loves to play music, crochet Irish lace, spend time with her family, and travel to visit friends.
